The only thing I didn't like is the water front property sign under the photo. Which indicates that soon this beautiful place that people will mess up! Leave it beautiful; soon all we will have to look at is graphite on the side of a wall! Congratulations America, you have made these places endangered!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1457338883691490217.post-69172277374538230082008-10-27T01:03:00.000-04:002008-10-27T01:03:00.000-04:00Pictures really are worth a thousand words! We own property down the street that my granddaddy bought in 1880. Everybody who lived here was family. Right now most of it's still that way, but as the older generation is dying out, the younger generation is moving on. Each heir gets a part of the property and they do what they want with it, either build a home here or sell.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1457338883691490217.post-46867358224149048772008-09-19T05:52:00.000-04:002008-09-19T05:52:00.000-04:00Amen...and pass the plate! I saw the history of Parris Island on the History Channel.

I thinks it's like some kind of rule that if you are on the west side of the Mississippi, you have to go to San Diego to train...but if you are on the Lowcountry side of the Mississippi you go to Parris Island.

Parris Island as a training Depot is so well respected that new recruits frequently make special requests (and get them granted) to go over to Parris Island instead of San Diego.

That's pretty cool that the Lowcountry is so full of "tradition and honor" like you say, that people actually fight to get into Parris Island.

I did a report for school about Serving in South Carolina. I got an A+.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
